Peggy đź©·
This sweet pigeon has been through so much already. After suffering a severe leg injury, her vets have determined that the only way to give her a pain-free life is through a safe and careful amputation. Without this surgery, she will continue to struggle every day.
Despite her challenges, she’s still full of life — cooing softly, eating well, and showing her incredible will to keep going. With the surgery and proper recovery, she’ll be able to live comfortably and happily as a one-legged pigeon.
We’re asking for your support to help cover the cost of her surgery, medication, and aftercare. Every donation, no matter how small, makes a huge difference in giving her the chance at the safe, loving life she deserves.
We are lucky to offer limited spaces for disabled pigeons so she will have a life time home.
Update on our beautiful peggy.
Sadly we received a devastating call to say she passed away shortly after the surgery.Â
As a team we fight so hard to give every animal a chance. We dont treat any animal different and try our upmost to give them all the same opportunities. Peggy was hand raised and was such a loving little feral pigeon. Because she was disabled she was given more human interaction than one we would eventually release. She was so loved. We would like to thank everyone who donated to her care and surgery. We thank you for seeing that Peggy's life was worth it. Thank you for supporting her. Her adoptive mummy has collected peggy from the vets and she has been laid to rest. RIP Peggy. Your life mattered.Â

This beautiful tiny fox cub was found yesterday evening laying in a field. She was unresponsive so was taken straight to the out of hours vets Kews Veterinary Surgery, sadly she suffered two seizures and she was bleeding from her bottom. Under veterinary advise we agreed to let her go and she passed peacefully. Such a sad end to a young life. Â
Swan Rescue in HarlowÂ
Today, we were alerted to a young swan seen walking down a side road in Harlow. One of our volunteers responded immediately and found the swan in the middle of the road, causing traffic to stop.
With care and calm, we guided the swan off the road and onto a grassy verge. We then contacted the wonderful Gill from the Swan Sanctuary for advice. She asked us to contain the swan safely — and thankfully, we always carry blankets just for situations like this! We were able to gently contain the swan, keeping her safe and calm until Gill arrived.
We’re happy to report that the young swan had no injuries and has now been successfully reunited with a local flock.
A heartfelt thank you to Gill for her swift response and expert help — we’re so grateful for your support!Â

Brink đź’™
On Tuesday when I first saw photos of this pigeon, he looked cold, weak and completely lifeless. It was very obvious he needed help, and fast. Thankfully the amazing member of the public whom first alerted us got him into a box and drove him straight to me. On arrival I honestly thought he was gone.
But something in me couldn't give up.
I wrapped him in warm blanket, gave him a little formula feed, and poured in as much love and care as I could.
Slowly but surely, he started showing signs of life again - tiny movements, brighter eyes, a flicker of energy. And now, he's doing so much better!
It's amazing what warmth, patience, and love can do. This little soul reminded me that even when things look hopeless, there's always a chance for recovery.
“Brink” is now recovering with some other pigeons of his age and will be released with them in the future.Â
Dolly ❤️
We received Dolly dove on 19/10 having been attacked by a sparrow hawk!
Gave her antibiotics & pain relief and she was enjoying her porridge Â
Once she started to try and escape from her cage, we released her into my aviary. She’s still squeaking for her parents, so will stay with me a while before being released.
When this beautiful buzzard was first brought in, I honestly thought there was no hope. He lay motionless, his feathers ruffled and dull, his breathing so faint I could barely see his chest rise. He had been found by the side of a large tree— cold, weak, and broken.
I told him, “You’re safe now,”Â
I wrapped him in soft towel to keep him warm and started gentle treatment — a small dose of pain relief, fluids, and the tiniest bit of food.
I put him out into an avairy where I laid him on a towel not holding out much hope but also wanting to give him space incase he came too.
Fast forward to this morning.. and I can not believe it.. that buzzard who I thought was dead on arrival is now up and sitting on a perch!Â
This just reminds me that no matter how broken something seems, with care and kindness, there’s always a chance…
We still have a long way to go and his still a little wobbly on his feet but I have high hopes he’ll be up soaring in the skies in no time x
