HEART (Heart Animal Rescue Team CIC) was founded by Hannah Bolton after she recognised a growing need for wildlife support within Essex. Hannah has been rescuing and rehabilitating animals since 2020.
The team of volunteers means everything to Hannah — each person plays a vital role in keeping HEART running smoothly. From managing accounts, admin, donations, and social media, to organising fundraising events and tirelessly helping on the ground, every contribution is invaluable.
Hannah would like to express her deepest thanks to every member of the team — HEART simply wouldn’t be possible without you.
Liza manages all of HEART’s finances and ensures everything runs smoothly behind the scenes. Having owned her own accountancy company since 2011, she brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the team.
Liza originally joined HEART in early 2024 as a fosterer, but as the rescue grew, we soon realised her accounting skills were invaluable. She kindly stepped away from fostering to take charge of our finances in 2025, overseeing all donations and financial matters.

Danielle is at the heart of everything fundraising — from setting up stalls and managing donations to supporting our amazing transporters. She began her journey with HEART in 2024 as a transporter and has since gone above and beyond, caring for wildlife and helping to keep our rescue operations running smoothly.

Shel plays a key role in our online community, running our facebook group and and working closely alongside Danielle with Heart Animal Rescue Team Fundraising . She helps connect people needing support by passing on messages to the right team members, posting updates, and keeping our followers informed and engaged.
Shel joined HEART in mid-2024 and has been a valued part of the team ever since. Dedicated and always approachable, she makes sure to get back to everyone as soon as possible.
